BAY VALLEY TECH EXPANDS FREE SEVEN-MONTH CODE ACADEMY TO HELP
CENTRAL VALLEY RESIDENTS ACCESS LUCRATIVE TECH CAREERS
SCOE Partnership Aims to Help Train 1,000 New Programmers in Next Five Years
MODESTO, Calif., January 27, 2020 – As software continues to transform the global economy creating unprecedented opportunities for the tech-savvy, many Central Valley workers are finding it difficult to break into the high-paying industry. Bay Valley Tech is opening doors for area residents through its innovative FREE software training program. Code academy students learn new programming skills through flexible online courses, peer-based tutoring and weekly in-person classes, where they have opportunities to network with local software professionals and hiring managers. Bay Valley Tech has also partnered with local companies to provide software professionals as code academy mentors and paid internships for top program graduates.
Other code academies can cost upward of $15,000, which makes Bay Valley Tech’s free and flexible program an excellent option for working parents and other groups facing challenges moving into higher-paying professions. Bay Valley Tech also provides a supportive, collaborative and fun environment for new students just getting into tech. Bay Valley Tech’s partnership with the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) and other corporate sponsors increases funding to significantly accelerate local software development training. “Our collaboration with Bay Valley Tech will provide Stanislaus County residents with an accelerated, cost-effective training program, giving graduates of the program access to high-tech careers that are in demand,” stated Scott Kuykendall, Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools.
